An Organic Idea Creation Tool Inspired from Startup School

This tool takes inspiration from Paul Graham's essays about startup ideas and Startup School's framework for evaluating ideas. We don't store any information you type; this tool can be used in offline mode. Please don't hurry this process, slow down and give yourself enough time. Take a slow deep breath, and you are good to go.

Step 1: Preparing Your Mind for Organic Ideas

At YC, startup ideas that grow naturally out of founders' experiences are called organic startup ideas. From their learnings, most successful startups begin this way. Let's start by listing down your areas of expertise.

Step 2: Turn off the Schlep Filter

Schlep means tedious or unpleasant task. Paul Graham writes that schlep filter blinds us from noticing good startup ideas. Think about the unpleasant tasks you went through in your work and life. Note it down here. He also recommends asking the question "What problem do I wish someone else would solve for me?"

Step 3: Evaluate Your Idea

Here we will be using YC's framework for evaluating good ideas. Answer the following questions using the slider. Be honest with yourself. You can ask a friend to go through your evaluation to defend yourself from cognitive biases.

Idea Score: 100

That's a little too much, are you sure you are not biased? Anyways, you should go ahead and build an MVP.
